It appears allegations made by a Shelby village council member concerning “nude photos” of women on a police department computer do not rise to the level of a crime.

While photos discovered on the computer included images of topless and bikini-clad women — apparently downloaded from the Internet — Oceana County Prosecutor Terry Shaw said they “weren’t anything serious enough to warrant a full investigation.”

Dr. Steve Lessens, who chairs the Shelby village police and policy committee, told a packed meeting hall Monday that he was “disgusted” to learn there were “nude photographs of women” discovered on a police department computer. That discovery prompted the committee to postpone recommending a replacement for former police chief Bob Wilson, who was placed on administrative leave on July 23 and resigned last month.

Two of the candidates vying for Wilson’s position — interim Police Chief Tim French and Shelby Officer Terry Tenbrink both work internally, which is why Lessens said a full investigation had to take place before a replacement could be recommended. The third candidate Eric Ridout, a K-9 deputy for Muskegon County, said today he is withdrawing his application.

Shaw said Lessens’ allegations of the photographic content on the computer was exaggerated and confirmed late Tuesday night “there would be no investigation.”

Lessens could not be reached for comment this morning.

“(Lessens) called me and had indicated (French) had found pornography on the (department’s) computer,” Shaw said.

Shaw said he then advised French to take the computer to the state police for evaluation. Instead, state police officials checked out the computer Tuesday morning at the Shelby Police Department and “didn’t see anything that would violate Michigan law,” Shaw said. “It’s a personnel thing.”

The images found on the police computer included “seven or eight pictures of women in underwear and bikinis, and two pictures of topless women,” Shaw said.

Shaw said French has declined to file any further complaints regarding the issue.

“He concurred with the state police. The state police said it wasn’t a violation of the obscenity law, so there is no investigation at this time,” Shaw said.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – State police and the Department of Transportation are investigating several pornographic e-mails that were sent using state e-mail addresses. The Providence Journal reports that several e-mails containing graphic sex acts were forwarded by state troopers and a female employee at the DOT.

Often, they were sent to other state e-mail addresses.

The e-mail policies of both state departments prohibit using state e-mail addresses for sending anything vulgar or obscene.
State Police Major Steven O’Donnell says if anyone violated the policy, they will be disciplined.

Dana Nolfe of the DOT says it will take strong action against anyone who broke the rules.

Philly Lawyer Found Naked With Girl, 14, Pleads no Contest; Has a History of Underage Girls

Hey Perves,

The real sickos keep coming out of the wood work. Read below:

–AP

PHILADELPHIA — A defense attorney who was found naked with a 14-year-old girl in a city courthouse pleaded no contest to charges of sexually assaulting the teen and five other girls.

Larry Charles, 50, entered the pleas on Monday, the day his trial was scheduled to begin.

Authorities have said a sheriff’s deputy making his rounds in the courthouse on Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, looked into a lawyers’ lounge and discovered Charles and the girl.

Charles, who often worked in the courthouse as a criminal defense attorney, was charged with rape and related offenses in that case.

After his arrest, five other girls came forward and testified that Charles assaulted them. Some of the girls testified they were assaulted multiple times over several years.

The girls — who were ages 5 to 10 at the time of the alleged attacks and are now ages 11 to 17 — testified the encounters occurred in motels, Charles’ office, on the street while trick-or-treating at Halloween, and in the lounge and a court anteroom.

Charles was charged in those cases with multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, corruption of a minor and other charges. He pleaded no contest to all the counts.

After entering the no contest pleas, Charles’ bail was revoked and he was sent to prison, pending his sentencing on Dec. 20. Prosecutors said they plan to recommend a sentence of 25 to 50 years in prison.

An attempt to reach Charles’ lawyer, Angelo L. Cameron, for comment was not successful. A woman answering the phone at his listed office telephone number said that he did not live there, then hung up.
