WWW [Bloomberg] - It's only February, but Christa Faust's ``Money Shot'' has to be an early contender for mystery debut of the year.

Faust tells the story of Angel Dare, a retired porn star turned blue-movie agent, who finds herself on the run after the promise of a final bow before the cameras leaves her shot and left for dead.

``Money Shot'' has no peer in hardboiled writing about the sex industry. Not that Faust makes it look like an Amway convention. She knows there are sleazeballs in the business -- but she refuses to treat it as unique in that regard.

And she has a connoisseur's appreciation for the golden age of smut, writing sadly of the sameness of today's starlets, of the nastiness that feels so out of tune with the playfulness that was once the rule in dirty movies.

Faust accepts the existence of the gutter but doesn't construct her entire worldview from that level. In Angel she captures the wised-up but still vulnerable voice you can find in interviews with similar performers from the glory days.

Angel is shrewd without being cynical, hardnosed without being hardhearted. Joining her are a passel of vivid supporting characters of the kind Hollywood once specialized in.

KSEX Halts Internet Broadcasting Indefinitely

Station sunk by financial woes, owner said.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Internet-based radio and TV station KSEX closed its doors Monday, possibly for good.

According to owner Jon Belinkie, the station struggled financially over the past 22 months.

"I believe KSEX had been hurting monetarily since the death of its founder, Mick Rick, which was long before my involvement," Belinkie told AVN Online. "The constant battles with staff, on-air personalities and slow- to non-paying sponsors and advertisers hemorrhaged enough money to cripple the station, and I'm done."

A deal for Vavoom Media Group to acquire KSEX fell apart on the eve of finalization, and the station's partnership with Rude.com proved volatile after Rude's $20,000 giveaway on KSEX in December 2007 collapsed into chaos.

"There have been a number of strategic partnerships discussed over recent months with a variety or players - both individual and corporate - to keep KSEX alive, but timing is of the essence," Belinkie said.

Belinkie said offers to buy KSEX are being entertained, but the sum of the station's parts may be worth more than the whole.

"I continue to believe KSEX is a tremendous business opportunity due to its unique industry niche position," he said, "but the reality exists that KSEX might be carved up and sold off."

Dan Leal, aka Porno Dan, formerly KSEX's sales director and a show host, agreed.

"Unfortunately, between the potential sale of the domain names, say with Moniker, and the distribution of content, et cetera, KSEX is probably worth a lot more being split up and sold off in sections," Leal told AVN Online. "It's a shame, and we will all have to wait to see what happens."

Belinkie said he takes "full responsibility for some of the choices that I could have made differently."

"I regret also the fact that KSEX was unable to achieve its full potential during these last two years," he said. "The time lost was hard to recover. Nevertheless, I still believe it can be a great company and has a unique place in the industry."

Belinkie said his first eight months at KSEX consisted of being part of a company that went out of business.

"It took time to get control of KSEX and get in the driver's seat," he said. "The next five months were consumed by differences of opinion between Wayne C. Lewis, aka Wankus, and myself, as to how the business should be run."

Lewis was unavailable for comment Tuesday.

Following Lewis' exit from KSEX in May 2007, Joe Brandi was brought on as vice president, with the aid of Program Director Lorrainiac, Brandi's longtime friend. After seven months, Brandi resigned in an on-air phone call during Lorrainiac's show.

"People sometimes have different ideas about the paths a company should take, and I finally arrived at a decision that it just wasn't a good fit," Brandi told AVN Online. "KSEX owner Jon Belinkie and I just had too many issues that we did not agree with, in respects to people and business operations."

Belinkie said he hopes KSEX's doors won't be closed for good.

"It would be a tremendous shame if [that] were to happen," he said. "KSEX is on the edge of a cliff. If it's going to live, someone needs to step up fast."

Tax on hotel porn movies??

Denver- A state lawmaker wants to tax in-room adult movies ordered at hotels to help fund child sex-abuse investigations.

The current version of House Bill 1086, sponsored by Rep. Amy Stephens, R-Monument, would impose a 99-cent fee on all in-room movies ordered at hotels. Stephens, though, said she plans to narrow her proposal to apply to just adult movies.

The money would go into a fund for children's advocacy centers, which counsel sexually abused children and help police and prosecutors interview young victims. There are 14 such centers in Colorado and more than 600 nationally.

Stephens said imposing the fee on adult movies to fund child sex-abuse investigations only makes sense. "Most of our sexual predators in prison are addicted to pornography," she said.

Cathryn Hazouri, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado, said the bill violates the First Amendment.

"Adult entertainment is just that. Whether you like it or not, adults have the right to view it," Hazouri said.

myspace To Sever Porn Links

WWW- The online social networking site MySpace announced an agreement yesterday with 49 states, excluding Texas, to protect children from Internet predators, something that experts called a good first step toward keeping young Web users safe but not a remedy to the problem.

"As the popularity of social networking sites continues to grow, the steps being taking by MySpace are essential to helping keep our young people safer online," Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler, one of the attorneys general to sign the agreement, said in a statement.

The agreement outlines a range of measures aimed at protecting teenagers who use the site, at myspace.com - and keeping those under the age of 14 from creating profiles. They include:

> Strengthen software identifying underage users;

> Retain a contractor to identify and eliminate inappropriate images;

> Allow parents to send their child's e-mail address so MySpace can restrict the child from signing in or creating a profile;

> Obtain and constantly update a list of pornographic web sites and regularly sever any links between them and MySpace

> Create a closed "high school" section for users under 18;

> Implement changes making it harder for adults to contact children;

> Dedicate resources to educating children and parents about online safety

> Provide a way to report abuse on every content page, consider adopting a common mechanism to report abuse and respond within 72 hours to abuse reports

Ernie Allen, president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, praised the joint agreement as a first step.

"I don't think it's a silver bullet. I don't think there's a panacea here," he said.

But the commitment by MySpace to meet regularly to discuss potential technological solutions to these concerns was promising, Allen said. "In many ways, like so many of the other challenges we've seen on the Internet, technology is going to play a key role in solving those kinds of problems," he said.

A 2006 study by researchers at the University of New Hampshire using data from the missing children's center indicated that one in seven children is sexually solicited online, and one in 33 is subjected to aggressive solicitations, Allen said.

MySpace is the largest social networking site, but the attorneys general called on others in the industry to adopt these principles as well, Allen said.

Others pointed out potential problems.

Barry Wellman, a University of Toronto sociologist who studies online gatherings, said MySpace still might have difficulty monitoring older users who create underage profiles.

"It's obviously easy to lie in that situation," Wellman said.

Wellman and Avi D. Rubin, a professor at the Johns Hopkins University, said that the agreement that allows parents to submit children's e-mail addresses to MySpace would be useless if kids have multiple addresses.

"Many teens would see that as a challenge to get around rather than a prohibition," Wellman said.

Rubin said, "A teenager can create his own e-mail address that parents don't know about in about two minutes."

And such a database of blocked e-mails would be very valuable information that would be targeted by hackers, Rubin said.

"That would be a database you would know are children," agreed Guilherme Roschke, of the Electronic Privacy Information Center. He said the plan overall contained some good changes, including limiting the ability to use search engines to find private profiles.

The agreement states that MySpace will prohibit tobacco or alcohol advertising, but using algorithms to identify underage users could let someone direct advertising to children, Roschke said.

States sought changes in response to concerns about sexual predators, and the report follows two years of discussions between MySpace and the attorneys general, according to Gansler's office.

Last year, Gansler, a former state's attorney, introduced a statewide program intended to educate children about potential online dangers, including sexual predators and identity theft.

Yesterday's agreement was announced in New York City by attorneys general from New Jersey, North Carolina, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York.

Investigators have increasingly examined MySpace, Facebook and similar social networking sites that allow people to post information and images on the Web and invite contacts from others.

Last year, New York investigators said they set up Facebook profiles as 12- to 14-year olds and were quickly contacted by other users looking for sex.

The multistate investigation of the sites - announced last year - was aimed at putting together measures to protect minors and remove pornographic material, but lawsuits were possible, officials said.

XXXJay fired from KSEX Radio show

Choosing sides is par for the course when it comes to radio show debacles. Anyone that recalls the Imus incident knows exactly what I am talking about. This morning, XXXJay, usually known for owning RogerV in party picture wars, was fired from KSEX Radio Show for disapproving of new KSEX advertiser, Rude.com. XXXJay has, in the past, expressed his displeasure with Rude.com’s business model, which includes, but is not limited to: stealing content, stealing more content, stealing a lot more content, and possibly even raping and pillaging several Kenyan Villages just for fun last Saturday afternoon after day drinking at a Nairobi Hooters.

Depending on which listener you you talk to, opinions really seem to vary.

He got what he deserved. He should learn to keep his mouth closed. The world doesn’t revolve around XXXJay, the show will go on.

KSEX intends to go on without XXXJay at the helm. They also were happy to be leading the pack when it comes to Radio Shows fueled completely on Irony by banning freedom of speech only to allow freedom of content theft.

We found Freedom of Speech to be a saturated market when it comes to radio shows. We do however support Freedom to Jack Content from whoever the fuck you want.

Porno Dan: "We're on Acid"

First of all I hope everybody had a save and fun holidays. We are now back in full force with many new exciting news. however I will trickle them slowly.... too many and too long to list in just one posting.

However I would like to say that there will be a few of these postings related to porno Dan. There are some issues that have arisen involving Porno Dan and Jayxxx from ksex.com. (at the time of this witting xxxJay has been fired from his job at ksex.com)

Below is a post from Gene Ross of adultfyi.com fame. I know the posting is very long, but it explains what had happen at the rude.com $20,000 Christmas giveaway. For those of you that know, I'm a member of the website rude.com and many friends of mine were in that contest, including my dearest friend Brooke Babylon.
To make a long story short which you will read below, xxxJay and porno Dan destroyed what should have been something fun. They were rude to the girls, xxxJay was an obnoxious ass, they were obviously drunk, and two of the girls definitely had the "white powder itch" under their nose. it was very obvious that the second party favor of choice was a sort of white powder. I say second party favor, because they blatantly bolstered about doing speed.

An apology was sent to all the girls of rude that were in the contest by the big wigs of rude.com for such an embarrasing even with a very rude drug addict, and a bleached head monkey host.

Porn Valley- 'Twas the Friday before Christmas and all through the house...five drops of acid were found on her blouse.

In their salute to the holidays, Porno Dan and XXX Jay from OC Cash hosted a KSEX show that will certainly go down in memory, if not the Library of Congress archives. Some industry people described it as watching a train wreck in slow motion.

But other than it being out of control - depending on your sense of humor, company affiliations or point of view - the show was pretty amusing.

So train wreck or not, Dan's co-host Jay wound up being shown the door of the caboose afterwards. Jay had made some remarks- construed as unfriendly fire- about Rude.com which has a business relationship with KSEX. The fact that Jay also chose to make them on the webmaster forum, GFY, in the days following the show, made it a tad worse.

Which is interesting because only a month earlier, Jay seemed to be on the same page of the Rude.com program of love. In early November- their second KSEX show to be exact- Dan announced the new affiliation with Rude.com which started airing KSEX.

"This is the first show that KSEX is on Rude," said Dan. "These are all long time friends of mine, actually. The owner of Rude, "Bukkake" Brett Lamar, my buddy; and Rob who spun off from another cam company that we won't mention right now, and R.J...."

XXXJay cuts in to say that he hadn't been on the site until two days prior.

"That's a fucking pretty bad ass little website there," comments Jay.

Dan notes that Rude's Alexa rating was under 1,000.

"That's very good news- 1.3 million members and 6.7 million page views are the actual numbers I was told from the tech people," Dan adds.

In the meantime, Dan and Jay's KSEX show was moved to the Friday 9pm slot, and the December 21st airing proved to be their unraveling as an on-air team.

Their guest for the evening was Chandie from Rude.com. Chandie says Rude.com [a 565 ranking at the time of the show] has been highly successful considering the fact that they're only been around for only a year.

"That means out of the billions and billions of websites out there, you're the 500th most popular website in the world," Dan comments. "And growing which is amazingly impressive."

"Isn't it true that you guys are growing off all that stolen content like I've been reading on GFY?" Jay then asks her Chandie. He tells her he was just busting her chops.

"It keeps the showing interesting."

Dan, on the show, was supposed to be giving away $20,000 in prize money. But what lent some confusion was the fact that some KSEX listeners were under the impression they were going to be the recipients of the largesse not the Rude.com girls.

Except, in this case, Dan would be giving the money to eight of the Rude.com webcam girls.

Chandie explained that Rude.com was a live, social networking community which combined the best elements of MySpace and YouTube with live cam shows and voyeur cam. Chandie also mentions that she's hardly a MySpace junkie, and Dan announces that Rude.com would soon have a dating site available.

"So I could troll around for girls."

According to Chandie, each of the Rude.com girls did different things from sex to fetishes.

"There's not a requirement."

"If I was in charge of the contest," Dan comments, "and I was giving away twenty grand, they'd be doing some really demented things to earn that twenty grand. We know what porn chicks will do for a thousand, so for twenty thousand, I don't know what they won't do. A girl will do a double anal scene for $1500."

Chandie explained that the Rude.com girls had tons of fans who watched them on voyeur cameras.

"On that note there are eight finalists," added Dan, including one girl, he said, who gets paid for people to watch her smoke cigarettes.

Chandie wasn't sure what he was trying to do. In any event, Jay joked about the prize money going a long way to subsidize his Jager habit.

Dan mentions that twice recently he was out to bars with girls who wanted to take advantage of Jay on his Jager kicks. Chandie told a story about being at a bar with Jay in Huntington Beach when "an Indian gentleman" walked in.

"Jay walked over and said, 'how,'- I almost crawled under the table. By the end of the night the guy was doing shots with everybody."

Jay then started pacing the studio and walking in front of the cameras like an overanxious school kid in search of his Ritalin.

Dan wanted to interview some of the Rude.com girls but wasn't sure if there was a phone available for doing that.

"I don't feel as much love sometimes here as I feel in other environments," Dan commented. "Like prison camp. I know I felt more love in prison before. A lot more. Jay and I were much more welcome in prison because we were virile men at the time."

Jay brushed off Dan's statement as one of his "homoerotic dreams".

Dan then got one of the contestants, BJ Mature, on the line. She said those were her initials and the "mature" was self-evident.

Chandie then kept yelling to Dan to call Trinity Sage who had just won $1,000. Jay kidded Sage about giving beauty contest happy answers instead of how she really felt. Then he also reminded the potential winner of the 12 Grand that she'd be making more money than Porno Dan all of next year.

Surprise employee's firing was based on Web-site browsing

Surprise officials said this week that a former city employee who had a prior career in the sex entertainment industry was fired for browsing inappropriate Web sites at work.

However, the employee, former Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex coordinator Geoff Mena, denies the accusation and said the city started a "deliberate witch hunt" against him after a concerned resident sent an anonymous letter to Mena's boss.

Mena signed a release last week allowing city officials to disclose the reason for his termination.

The Buckeye resident has 12 years of tennis experience and a prior career designing Web sites, some of which had sexual content. Mena also hosted an adult radio show and on occasion went before the camera in sex videos.

Mena, who is an acquaintance of Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex director John Austin, told his bosses about his previous career before he was hired.

However, Mena was fired about a month into the job after a letter dated Aug. 30 and signed a "concerned parent and Surprise resident" stated: "My friend and I were talking to the tennis pro, Geoff Mena, about lessons, tournaments, etc. for our families. Once we returned home, we decided to 'Google' his name to check his teaching credentials. It was at this time that we discovered that he also is involved in the adult entertainment industry. As a former Marine, I am certainly not a prude, but, after some discussion, Mr. Mena's other career made us wary of him teaching our wives, daughters and their teenage friends."

Mena believed he was fired because of the letter. However, the city said Mena's inappropriate Web browsing violated the city's employee guideliness and was the reason for his termination.

The city's Web filter identified eight Web addresses classified as "adult/sexually explicit" that Mena had browsed for a total of nine minutes.

None of the sites actually featured sexual content, but nearly all featured Web design code that was ultimately linked to a domain name that had content sexual in nature.

Four of the addresses were accessed by Mena on Aug. 23. Mena said he was chatting with a city technical-assistance employee about Web design, and brought up his portfolio Web site that featured non-sexual examples from his previous career as a Web designer.

The other four addresses were accessed on Sept. 9, a day after the anonymous letter complaining about Mena arrived. That time, Mena said, he and his boss put his name into a Web search engine to see what kind of content might have popped up. Mena said they browsed various addresses together, but nothing sexual was featured on them.

Mena believes the anonymous letter prompted city officials to find a reason to fire him, and that they used the Web sites he visited as a reason, even though they didn't actually feature sexual content.

"Due to the possibility of litigation, we won't have any further public comment," city spokesman Ken Lynch said in an e-mail to The Republic.

City spokeswoman Diane Arthur also said the six-month period after a city employee is hired is considered a probationary period, and the city has the right to terminate that employee at any time during the period without reason.

Mena said he is contemplating legal action as a result of the firing, telling The Republic previously, "It demonizes me in a way. I'm not a criminal, I'm not a sex offender."

KING CITY, Calif. - Maryam I. Haley, a.k.a. Haley Paige, who appeared in over 300 adult titles between 2002 and 2007, passed away August 21, according to the King City coroner's office. The cause of her death is still under investigation, awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Haley's body was released to a mortuary August 27. A spokesperson for the coroner's office said it is typical for toxicology reports to take between four and six weeks to be returned following an autopsy.

Rumors of Haley's death began circulating in the adult industry in September. She had by most accounts vanished over the past two months, along with boyfriend Inkyo Volt Hwang, a.k.a. director Chico "Wanker" Wang. Hwang was arrested June 29 for allegedly beating and kidnapping Haley, but was released July 3 with no charges filed.

The coroner's office spokesperson confirmed to AVN that Hwang was interviewed by the King City police several days after her death. Calls to the King City police department were not immediately returned.

As to another circulated rumor that Haley died of a heroin overdose, the spokesperson for the coroner's office said she had no track marks that would indicate such a cause, but it was hypothetically possible if she smoked the substance.

A longtime associate of Hwang's, Hung Lo, spoke to AVN and stressed that Hwang was good to Haley, and did everything he could to get her off of drugs. "That's what he wanted for her," Lo said. "He loved her."

Ray Guhn Due Back in Court

Florida - Clinton Raymond McCowen, aka Ray Guhn, is due back in court October 16 for a hearing in which Circuit Court Judge Ron Swanson will determine whether a national community standard prevails in his case.

Gunn's attoneys will argue at that time for national standards over local ones, stating that they're appropriate because of the global nature of the Internet

Last month Swanson ruled on Gunn's potentially precedent-setting pornography case, stating that it will remain in Santa Rosa County.

Swanson had denied a defense motion to change venue in McCowen's case. Prosecutors said it was run out of McCowen's Navarre home.

At the time, defense attorneys sought to move the proceedings to Escambia County.

"I keep going back to the statute that says this is a discretionary decision made by the state," Swanson said during discussions with attorneys.

"It seems to me it's pretty simple. The state gets to make the choice (according to the statute) if the offenses happen in two or more counties."

Swanson said the law only allows a judge to change the trial location if the state's choice was influenced by an improper motive or if the venue the state selects somehow violates the defendant's right to due process. Neither of those was true in this case, he said.

McCowen, Andrew Kevin Craft of Pace, Kevin Patrick Stevens of Pensacola, William Lee Beach of Milton, Jane Marie Dreka of Lillian, Ala., and Thomas W. Dwyer of Pensacola are accused of producing obscene videos, which Internet users could pay to view online.

They face two charges each of racketeering — conducting a criminal enterprise by engaging in prostitution, and by manufacturing and selling obscene material. McCowen also faces money laundering charges.

Attorneys have called the case a "case of first impression," meaning there are no similar cases in history to look to for guidance.

The outcome could be precedent-setting.

The state maintains that the videos were shot at various locations in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties, including public places like Interstate 110. The state also says the money laundering occurred in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties.

Assistant State Attorney Russ Edgar said while charges originally were filed in Escambia in 2006, the case was moved to Santa Rosa to best address all charges with one proceeding. The original charges were filed before the evidence of money laundering was discovered, he said.

"We believe the most serious charge in this case is the money laundering charge. ... That occurred in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties," Edgar said. "The money laundering, in my opinion, had to be heard in either Okaloosa or Santa Rosa. The manufacturing of obscene materials had to either be in Escambia or Santa Rosa."

Defense attorneys had sought to have the trial moved back to Pensacola.

"The substance of this case was originally filed over a year ago in Escambia County," said McCowen's attorney, Jerome Mooney. "We're being hurt ... because we've been working for a year in preparation for one community and suddenly we find ourselves being thrust into another community. These communities, these counties, may be next door to each other, but they are substantially different."

Federal judge rejects Internet porn law

A federal judge has rejected a state law that restricts the dissemination of sexually oriented material over the Internet.

The law prohibits people from sending communications that are harmful to minors over the Internet if the sender knows or should know that the recipient is a minor.

In his ruling Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge Walter Rice said the law violates the First Amendment because it was too broadly written and could have ensnared adults having sexually frank discussions with other adults in chat rooms. In those cases, there is no way to ensure that minors are not part of the conversation, Rice said.

The judge also said the law violated the First Amendment by failing to target only people who intended to disseminate sexually oriented material to children with the intent to lure them into sexual activity.

Rice’s ruling came in a lawsuit filed in 2002 by organizations representing booksellers, book publishers, music and video retailers and newspapers.

‘’While we should have adequate legal safeguards to shield children from objectionable content, those safeguards cannot unreasonably interfere with the rights of adults to have access to materials that are legal for them,'’ said David Horowitz, executive director of Media Coalition, a trade association that coordinated the lawsuit.

The state is reviewing the decision and considering its options, Ted Hart, spokesman for Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann, said Wednesday.

He declined further comment.

FBI Confirms 2257 Inspections in Fla. Last Week

MIAMI, Fla. — The FBI’s 2257 inspection team conducted five inspections of Florida-based producers last week, all of which resulted in violations, XBIZ has learned. Special Agent Chuck Joyner, the head of the FBI’s inspection team, confirmed to XBIZ via email that the inspection team flew to Miami on Sept. 16, and conducted the inspections over the course of that week.

Joyner told XBIZ that all five inspections resulted in violations, but at this time the FBI has no evidence of any minors being included in the content. Joyner said that one producer admitted that he did not keep any photo identification records prior to 2005, and a second producer failed to produce any photo identification records at the time of his inspection.

XBIZ has confirmed that one of the producers inspected was CandidCam.com. Other media reports indicated that VoyeurDorm.com had been inspected, but Mark Dolan, who represents both companies and was present for the inspection in question, told XBIZ that the inspection was of records maintained by CandidCam, not VoyeurDorm.

“The agents were very polite, cordial and thorough,” Dolan said, adding that the inspection took about three to four hours for agents to complete.

Dolan told XBIZ that while the inspection team did identify a few violations, all of the violations were minor. Dolan said that other violations included the need to change the address for the custodian of records for the company, as some material had an old address, and that the FBI requested that the dates of production be included on the company’s DVDs so that the address displayed when the disc was played. Dolan said that the DVD boxes did have the date of production listed.

Another violation involved having too much data with the records for a given title, Dolan said. In that instance, records for performers who had nonsex roles in the video were included in the records for the performers who did engage in sexually explicit conduct. Curing that violation involved merely removing the records for the nonsex performers, Dolan said.

“All things considered, I thought the inspection went very well,” Dolan said.

Joyner was traveling and not immediately available for follow-up questions, and could not be reached to confirm the information provided by Dolan.

Five dancers, manager busted at Pinellas adult club

ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County detectives say they've arrested five dancers and the manager of an adult entertainment business after an undercover investigation revealed it was operating illegally.

Deputies say the sting took place at Vegas Show Girls, which is located on Gandy Boulevard in St. Petersburg. The arrests were made on Wednesday evening.

Investigators say 24-year-old Jennifer Pine, 21-year-old Jessica Marie Puckette, 22-year-old Corinna Shaffer, 22-year-old Ethel Christina Sizemore, and 21-year-old Brandie Elizabeth Storie were all violating Pinellas County's nudity ordinance. They say Storie also had an outstanding drug warrant.

The manager of the business, 36-year-old Jonathan Bell, was also arrested. He was charged with operating an adult use establishment without a license.

Detectives say they've received numerous complaints about illegal activity at the business, even though similar investigations and arrests have been made there in the last year. Deputies monitored the business as a part of this investigation, and they found the performers to be in violation of County Ordinance 6-2.

Bell was ordered to appear in court. Detectives say the investigation continues, and they will be conducting spot checks of similar businesses in the area to make sure they are complying with the ordinance.

Ex-dominatrix: Historic NYC bathhouse a sin palace

The alleged steamy sex scene at a historic East Village bathhouse was too hot even for an ex-dominatrix to handle.

Former massage therapist Susan Shellogg has filed a $100 million sexual harassment suit in which she accuses workers and clients at the Russian & Turkish Baths of engaging in lewd sex acts while her boss allegedly viewed scatological porn videos on a laptop.

The suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleges that the E. 10th St. establishment is a hothouse where sex is common in shower stalls and on massage tables, and where “towel boys” and other employees are encouraged to fulfill kinky client fantasies.

Shellogg - whose 1994 book “Unnatural Acts” chronicled her stint as a dominatrix - contends she was fired after complaining about the alleged sexual sideshow at the bathhouse, where she worked for more than six years.

Bathhouse manager Dmitry Shapiro dismissed the suit as the product of “a desperate person who’s out for money.”

The suit alleges that Shellogg was told she “was not a team player” after she refused to provide sexual favors to a client named “Buddy.” In January, she finally quit.

TAMPA - A federal judge is being asked to grant permission for a porn producer to be on the "The Howard Stern Show."

Paul F. Little, also known as Max Hardcore, is being prosecuted in U.S. District Court in Tampa on federal obscenity charges. While the case is pending, travel for the California resident is restricted to his home district and the Middle District of Florida.

Howard Stern's satellite radio show is broadcast from New York. In addition to covering risque topics, Stern promotes free speech.

"I look at Howard Stern as the voice of America," Little said in a telephone interview. "He gets out there and he says what he wants, and they even kicked him off regular radio, fined him heavily for saying words. He moved on, and he's still standing. I consider the opportunity to get on his show … and tell my story really just a wonderful opportunity."

Little said he plans to bring his partner, adult film star Layla, along with him to appear on the show. "We're going to have a great time," he said.

He said he got into the adult entertainment business because he is "tired of the hypocrisy of these politicians who say one thing and do another. They say gay people are bad, and then they're caught in a bathroom. … I'm going to make movies, and whatever they tell me I can't do I'm going to do it. I'm going to get people thinking and, No. 1, entertain people. That's my job."

Little's attorney, James Benjamin, filed a motion Tuesday asking a federal judge to allow the defendant to fly to New York on Sept. 22 so he can appear on the show Sept. 24. He would return to California on Sept. 25, the motion states.

Last month, Judge Susan Bucklew gave Little permission to travel to an adult video trade fair in Fort Lauderdale.

Little is scheduled to go on trial March 3. The 10-count federal indictment was returned May 17 in Tampa and unsealed May 30.

Little is described by federal prosecutors here as a nationally known director, producer and star of full-length films that feature "severe violence towards the female performers participating in the acts."

The indictment alleges that Little, through the entertainment company, distributed pornographic films to post office boxes in Florida.

The indictment also alleges that to help promote these films, the defendants used a Web site to sell and distribute the films by transmitting over the Internet five obscene video clips as promotional trailers.

Little said he's not sure what he will do on the Stern show, but "me and Layla are going to do our best to make the best 'Howard Stern Show' that there ever was."

David Bowie and Sting Financing a Strip Club Called Forty Deuce

NEW YORK -- A proposed strip club reportedly financed by David Bowie and Sting has drawn the ire of residents of New York's Lower East Side.

The club, called "Forty Deuce,'' is planned for just north of Chinatown in a relatively low-rent residential and retail area that is gradually becoming more upscale. A ratepayers' group has a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, saying the "Forty Deuce'' nightclub is nothing more than a high-end strip joint.

Forty Deuce's website, which has since been taken down, called the proposed club "naughty yet sophisticated.''

Community opponents have gathered about two-thousand signatures.

As one irate resident put it, "I can't think of anywhere but the edge of the river that this is appropriate for.''

Robert Bookman, a lawyer for club mogul Ivan Kane, confirms Bowie and Sting are involved in the deal, but says he doesn't know to what extent.

"Forty Deuce'' clubs currently operate in Hollywood and Las Vegas.

'Porn Bush' Portrait Riles GOP

LONDON – Republicans are not happy about a collage portrait of George W. Bush, created entirely out of clippings from porn magazines. Artist Jonathen Yeo created the controversial work — which is currently on display at a gallery in London — after the Bush Library in Texas canceled a commission it had given him to paint a portrait of the President.

A spokesman for Republicans Abroad International described the portrait, titled “Bush 2007,” as a “cheap stunt” in an interview with the British newspaper, The Sun.

“This picture is very distasteful," a spokesman for the Republican Party in Texas, told The Sun. "Why would anyone want to make a picture of our president from pornographic material?”

“I did it for fun, not to offend,” Yeo told The Sun of his creation. “[I’m] pleased with it."

Yeo has previously been commissioned to do the portraits of other high ranking political figures, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, with which no porn was involved.

The work is available in a limited edition run of 150 prints from London's Lazarides Gallery.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Florida State Rep. Bob Allen, charged with a misdemeanor count of solicitation of prostitution last month, will face trial on the charge it was determined during a hearing this week.

Testimony Allen gave Florida police saying he was frightened of the officer who arrested him, will not be used in the case, it was determined this week. A trial date of Sept. 19 was set. Allen appeared at the hearing with his wife.

Allen said in the statement that he “certainly wasn’t there to have sex with anybody and certainly wasn’t there to exchange money for it … This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park.”

Police said Allen peered over a bathroom stall and initiated a conversation with the officer who suggested they go someplace else. He was arrested upon exiting the restroom. Allen said the incident was a “huge misunderstanding.”

I got the test results back from Aim Healthcare and his test was negative for everything, so we set a time and a place for our rendezvous and I went on about my merry way. I was in heaven, feeling like I was thirteen year old again and having my first kiss at Skateworld. I had so much desire for this man and didn't even know it until my husband told me of his fantasy.

Well, I went to meet up with him and we shared some of the most incredible sex I've ever had. We began to talk about how responsible we felt for doing it this way and that people should do it like this more often. Get tested, get permission and totally enjoy yourselves. It didn't even take ANYTHING away from the excitement of it! In fact, it may have made it even better!

Then we started talking about STDs and he brings up Herpes! He says, "You don't have that do you?" My heart almost hit the floor and my gut tightened up like a knot. It's a little late in the game to be asking this now, don't you think? It was as much his responsibility as it was mine, so I can't really place any blame. I really thought he knew since we had talked briefly about it before. NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING!!!!

I couldn't even tell him the truth at that moment because I was so embarrassed. I just blurted out, "NO!" I kept thinking how am I going to tell him. This is a man who doesn't work in the adult industry, granted I don't know what he does in his personal life, but I should have said something before it was too late. I never said a word and left.

I called Aiden right away and told him what happened and immediately after that I called "the other man" to tell him that I lied. I explained everything and told him how I felt and he was actually really calm and nice about it all. I took him to Aim Healthcare the next day to talk about it and told him I would pay to get him tested again and that I would take care of it for him.

I am just crossing my fingers that I did not give him HSV-2 for life. Now you all know why I posted the Herpes blog because I went through a lot emotionally and got very stressed out over it all. I actually lost sleep and my appetite for awhile. Now everything is calmed down and I feel a lot better.

My husband's fantasy is gone. And even it if it weren't I don't think I could have sex with anyone else at this point. I am fine with having sex with just my husband for the rest of my life. You don't have to ask me twice.

Anyway, here's the kicker. I started shooting the Vivid feature, The Devil in Miss Jones: Lost Paradise and everything was going well. I've been working 13 hour days and it's been challenging because I don't usually do these kinds of projects. I know that it's worth it to me though, because when I get to sit down and watch the finished product, I'll see all the hard work I put into it.

The night of the 23rd, after my shower, I was putting some lotion on and felt what I thought was a rash on my upper butt cheek. I was like, what the hell is this? and kept trying to think of how I could have gotten it and from where, or was it a bug bite or something? I could not seem to pin point it. I left it alone and thought, well, it will be gone in a couple of days, no worries.

But it has only gotten worse. I had to cancel my sex scenes for today and I went to the doctor, only to find that he thinks it Herpes. I am not 100% sure yet because the culture won't be back until Friday, but he loaded me up with medication. The thing is, it's not a normal sized breakout. It happens to be 2 inches in diameter and it's on my ass!!!!!!!!

This isn't the worst thing that could happen. I am totally aware of that, but it is a big fucking deal to me considering the size and the placement! He even said it could very well leave a scar because of the size of it. I nearly cried! It's days like this that make my job suck. If there were one thing that I could name that would make me not want to have sex for a living it would be STDs!

And that is why I am telling you all of this today. I will no longer be performing with other people. I'll still be doing solo scenes for extras on my movies and also directing, dancing and signings.

This is really a big decision for me and it hurts me in some ways, but the way I look at... it's time to let me body relax. I just don't want to risk getting Herpes all over my body, or in my eyes, or genital warts or even HIV Don't worry, I'm not leaving the business, I'm just not going to be performing in front of the camera anymore.

I know that is why a lot of you are my fans, but I hope you continue to be a fan of my work directing and behind the camera in the years to come. I can't thank you all enough for supporting my career throughout the years! And I'll still be here telling you all about my adventures in life and all of the other really hot guys and girls I've been

Mistress Gorgeous’ busted for Craigs List Prostie Soliciting

Boston- An S&M dungeon run by an Allston-Brighton couple allegedly trawling the Web for johns was busted Monday by police as part of a citywide crackdown on Internet prostitution postings.

Kara Rogers, 27, aka “Mistress Gorgeous,” and her husband Jacob Rogers, 29, were arrested yesterday for soliciting sex for pay on the Internet classified advertising site craigslist.com, police said.

The online prostitution postings have become an urgent quality of life issue in the city, especially in the Allston-Brighton area.

“We had more and more people complaining in community meetings that strange men were lurking in their neighborhoods,” BPD undercover detective Jimmy Fong told the Herald. “These guys were hanging around waiting for their appointments now that the Internet has brought prostitution inside.”

Since the crackdown began, 40 illegal “massage parlors” and S&M dungeons in the area have been shut down, and at least 100 suspected prostitutes and johns have been arrested, Fong said.

“We use the Internet to try to get a handle on the prostitution problem. Many of the street workers have been pushed out,” Fong said. “They are moving outside of the city.”

Working undercover, Fong said he responded last week to a listing posted on craigslist that read “gorgeous female available to meet submissive men.”

“I’m kind of new to this. I like to be tied up,” the sergeant-detective allegedly wrote back in an e-mail.

“You have to play along with them to get the appointment,” he explained.

Kara Rogers, writing under the Web pseudonym “Miss Gorgeous,” allegedly informed Fong she is paid $175 a half hour for virtually everything, including “spanking, role play, bondage, tease, bondage and toys.”

A full hour of torture was $250, and an extra $50 earned a customer extra benefits, according to Fong.

“I have my limits,” “Mistress Gorgeous” allegedly wrote in her ad.

But Rogers apparently pushed her limits on the night of Aug. 22 when she allegedly greeted Fong at the door of her apartment at 20 Leicester St. wearing a sheer robe, a camouflage teddy and high heel shoes.

Fong said that after Rogers allegedly solicited him for sex in person, citing her price, he left with the promise that he would return.

When the detective returned yesterday, he came armed with a search warrant.

Rogers and her husband, Jacob, were charged with sexual conduct for a fee and allowing a premise to be used for immoral purposes, according to a BPD report. A basket full of paddles and sex toys was seized as evidence, Fong said.

“The husband had full knowledge of the activities,” Fong told the Herald. “He said that it was their only source of income.”

Future of plan to restrict NJ adult entertainment in doubt

EAST RUTHERFORD — The future of a proposed adult entertainment ordinance that came before the Borough Council in June is in doubt after some municipal officials questioned whether it would be adopted in the coming months.

“I am not sure what is going to happen over the next few months,” Mayor James Cassella said Tuesday. “When something is introduced, it begins a discussion and people talk about it, and they make changes. I am not sure it is going to be the final proposal if and when it gets to the council.”

The ordinance introduced in June, sought to prevent adult-oriented businesses, including bookstores, massage parlors, tattoo parlors, go-go bars and fortune-telling shops, from opening within the main business districts, near schools, houses of worship and residential areas. The purpose of the ordinance was to restrict the operation of such enterprises to about 17 lots east of the railroad tracks along East Union Avenue to Berry’s Creek and a portion of Murray Hill Parkway.

That area being considered by the borough is within the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, which approves what can be built there. As of Tuesday, the commission had not received any communication from borough officials about plans for the permitted use within that area, said Christopher Gale, commission spokesman. And no applications have been submitted to the commission for zoning approval since talk of the ordinance came up months ago, Gale said.

The ordinance also has to be reviewed by the Planning Board, but the board lacked a quorum at the July 9 meeting. In addition, Board Attorney Beverly Wurth, and Jill Hartmann, borough planner, did not attend the Aug. 13 meeting. Planning Board members decided to delay action on the ordinance until both Wurth and Hartmann advise them how to proceed, Cassella said.

The ordinance may be discussed at the Planning Board’s Sept. 10 meeting, but other agenda items may prevent that from happening, Cassella said. Hartmann and Wurth did not return telephone calls on Tuesday seeking comment on the adult entertainment zone ordinance.

Since taking up the ordinance, officials said they were surprised by the negative publicity it has received, considering that other New Jersey municipalities already restrict where adult bookstores, juice bars, massage parlors and other adult venues can be located. The adverse reaction was fueled by previous media reports that labeled the borough’s efforts as the creation of a red light district, officials said.

In West Paterson, Carlstadt, South Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Bloomingdale and Butler, ordinances exist defining where some of these businesses can operate.

“No other town had the negativity, and the screaming, and the yelling about it, except for East Rutherford,” said Cassella, a Republican. ” … The negative publicity had such an adverse effect on what the council was trying to do. People do get a little gun-shy, too … If they (the council) knew that that was going to be the reaction, nobody would have voted for it, Democrats or Republicans.”

First Amendment scholars have said that municipalities cannot completely zone out all adult-oriented businesses.

Sen. Larry Craig Quits Romney Campaign

MINNEAPOLIS – Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has resigned from Mitt Romney's presidential campaign in the wake of reports detailing his June 2007 arrest for lewd conduct in a public men's room at Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.

Craig had served as Mitt Romney's co-liaison to the Senate with Senator Robert F. Bennett of Utah. A statement from the Romney camp reads: “Senator Craig has stepped down from his role with the campaign. He did not want to be a distraction, and we accept his decision.”

According to reports, plainclothes officers arrested Craig on June 11 for soliciting an undercover policeman in a toilet stall.

“At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot,” Sgt. Dave Karsnia, who was sitting in an adjacent stall as a decoy, wrote in his arrest report. “I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moved his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly. While this was occurring, the male in the stall to my right was still present. I could hear several unknown persons in the restroom that appeared to use the restroom for its intended use. The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area.”

After Craig made a clear signal of solicitation, Karsnia identified himself as a police officer and arrested Craig. After his apprehension, Craig told police he didn’t recall what had happened. He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

According to Roll Call, the police report said that at one point during the interview with authorities, Craig handed Karsnia a business card identifying him as a U.S. senator and said, "What do you think about that?"

Craig paid more than $500 in fines and fees and was given one year of probation for the offense.

“I should have had the advice of counsel in resolving this matter,” Craig told Roll Call. “In hindsight, I should not have pled guilty. I was trying to handle this matter myself quickly and expeditiously.”

Sen. Craig has an ultra-conservative record, voting against gay marriage and opposing the extension of special protections for gay and lesbian crime victims.

Craig is up for re-election next year, and Democrats have predictably seized on the charges as fodder for the 2008 campaign. “[The guilty plea] has given Americans another reason not to vote Republican,” Hannah August, a Democratic Senate Campaign Committee spokeswoman, told Fox News.

Bus Stop Near Porn Shop Sparks Protest

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - Parents in a Bucks County school district have some concerns about school bus safety.

They’re not worried about the buses, but about the location of a bus stop.
The corner of Fairmont Drive in Quakertown became a school bus stop a few years ago after a nearby housing development was completed. But people who live around here say it’s an awful place for a bus stop because of a nearby porn shop.

The Adult World Video Superstore is no more than 100 feet away on nearby Route 309. Parents in this community are demanding the school district move the bus stop to another location.

The school district’s business administrator, Sylvia Lenz, told Action News, “We take the safety of our children very seriously. The matter is being investigated regarding other possible bus stops.”

Lenz also said the district receives dozens of requests to move other bus stop locations for various safety concerns every year. Accommodating all of them is all but impossible, she said.

Parents here are hoping this issue is considered a priority.

Mattel Seeks to Shut Down Porn Web Site Using Barbie Trademarks

NEW YORK — Toy maker Mattel Inc. went to court Tuesday to declare that the name of its clean-cut Barbie dolls doesn't belong on a model's pornographic Web site.

In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Mattel said the Web site for an adult entertainer named China Barbie has tried to benefit from Mattel's success with the 48-year-old line of dolls, which includes Barbie's sister, Skipper, her best friend, Midge, and Skipper's boyfriend, Kevin.

China Barbie's site says she's a "cordial young lady" who sat behind the desks of some of the world's leading investment banking firms and advertising agencies in New York before getting into porn. It says her filmography includes "Me Luv You Long Time," "Ethnic Cheerleaders 8" and "Passport to Paradise."

The site charges $19.95 for monthly access to its photos and video clips.

The lawsuit said Mattel had registered its trademarks to protect the Barbie line of dolls and the $1.6 billion in sales that it generates. Mattel said it has sold more than a billion Barbie dolls worldwide and a typical American girl owns eight of them.

According to the lawsuit, the offending Web site is registered to Global China Networks LLC and is operated by Terri Gibson, a Hollywood, Fla., resident.

A telephone message left for Gibson and an e-mail sent to China Barbie through the Web site on Tuesday were not immediately returned.

The lawsuit said Global China Networks used a domain name containing the word "barbie" in a "bad faith attempt to profit from Mattel's Barbie trademarks" and had damaged Mattel's good name.

The lawsuit asked the court to order the transfer of the domain name registration to Mattel, to award damages of up to $100,000 and to order that any profits Global China Networks achieved be given to Mattel.

El Segundo, Calif.-based Mattel said the Web site is toying with an image it had carefully crafted since company co-founder Ruth Handler created the Barbie doll in 1959 after discovering that her daughter, Barbara, preferred to play with paper cutouts of adult female fashion dolls rather than baby dolls.

$45 Movie, Amateur Porn Star Killer Gets Theatrical Release This Week

Los Angeles [www.filmstew.com]- If the feature film Amateur Porn Star Killer attracts just a dozen moviegoers to its midnight screenings at L.A.'s Laemmle Sunset Five complex this Friday and Saturday, August 24th and 25th, it will have recouped its entire production cost.

It’s not the fact that filmmaker Shane Ryan shot his horror thriller in three hours for the discount mini-DV price of $45, thanks to the donated services of a co-star and possibly one or two other crew members. It’s the fact that ahead of the film's November DVD release, it’s actually getting shown in theaters.

“Sure, we had 8mm,” Ryan explains, referring to the 1999 Joel Schumacher drama that starred Nicolas Cage. “But I wanted the film inside the film of 8mm to be a real, full-length film. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be, but I made it happen, and here it is.”

Shot in 2004, completed in 2005 and retooled in 2006, Amateur Porn Star Killer stars Ryan as a snuff film psychopath who drags a woman (Michiko Jimenez) to a hotel room and proceeds to do pretty much everything imaginable to her.

In light of this summer’s poor performance of similar gore porn films (Captivity, Hostel: Part II), it’s unclear if the theatrical audience for this kind of thing still exists. But as mentioned, all Ryan needs to do is attract twelve people to the L.A. midnight shows (besides himself), which may be followed by other showings elsewhere.

The tag line for Ryan’s film says it all: ‘This young girl will be humiliated, raped, murdered and you will watch.’ But ahead of perhaps some sort of public outcry over the film’s content, Ryan makes no apologies.

“Horror should either scare, terrify, disturb or make you uneasy,” he insists. “Don’t look for entertainment in this movie. Look for reality, at its most ruthless and evil side.” “If you are, however, entertained, please call my shrink.” Our favorite thing about Ryan’s film are the sources of some of rave quotes on his website. Lurid Sinema deems it “excellent,” Sex Gore Mutants warn that it’s “sickening” and Evil Dread labels it “psychotic.” In the horror world, this is as good as two thumbs up.

Porn director Sean Hart shoots more Dick and Bush

When Sean Hart started making adult films three years ago, the market was saturated. It taught the Las Vegan a hard lesson: You should offer a product that stands up ... er, out. At the same time he realized this, Alberto Gonzales had just replaced John Ashcroft as U.S. attorney general. It was understood that under Gonzales' direction the federal persecution of the adult-film industry would intensify.

"I decided to turn a negative into a positive," says Hart.

That positive is America Loves Bush, a soon-to-be-released DVD featuring actors with fake faces screwing people. (Consensually, that is, unlike the screwing that voters get from the administration regularly.)

Hart gave CityLife a preview of his controversial film.

There are four scenes, two involving "The Decider." In the first, an actor wearing a Bush mask chats up a Saudi Arabian princess. ("Actually, she's a Mexican actress," Hart reveals.) Bush shares his concern over the way in which America is viewed by the world: "Ever since 7-11 people having been talking bad about us." He confesses that he suffers certain, um, performance issues. She knows what works, pulling out a bottle of oil -- the kind that comes from a derrick.

"Actually, that's chocolate sauce," admits Hart. (No oil wells were harmed during the making of this film.)

Second scene: A beautiful Filipino doctor pays a house call to Cheney, who asks: "What happened to Dr. Wu?"

"His son died in Iraq," she says.

"Well, at least he died for a good cause."

"Freedom?" she says.

"Oil," says Cheney. They commence to humping.

Final scene: In a spoof of Fahrenheit 9/11, Bush plays KerPlunk! when an advisor enters to say America is under attack. Bush goes to speak to Laura and, in a moment reminiscent of the infamous My Pet Goat incident, a time clock ticks away on the screen every time they change positions.

Afterward Dubya says: "Now what was that guy telling me?"

"I had a local comedian help me with some of the lines," says Hart.

[The Hollywood Reporter]: "Larry Flynt: The Right to be Left Alone" is an impressionistic documentary portrait of America's most famous smut peddler, where the focus is less on his life and legacy as on his First Amendment court battles over the past 30 years. Larry Flynt has spent more time in court than many lawyers. He also has spent time in jail for his beliefs. So when this man talks about the meaning of democracy, he has earned the right to be heard.

Those who do listen probably will be like-minded constitutional liberals. On the other hand, this film by Joan Brooker-Marks is a call to debate on all sides so "Left Alone" might have a long life in the various markets for docus. The film does not yet have a distributor.

Flynt is a lightning rod. No one is neutral about him, Hustler magazine or his beliefs. He has a way of engaging his fiercest enemies so that some wind up with a grudging respect for the man. The Rev. Jerry Falwell reportedly tried to bury the hatchet following his libel suit against the pornographer. Yet women who are otherwise liberal-minded turn red with anger when his name crops up. One calls him a "sexual fascist."
Brooker-Marks enters this mine field with little interest in questions of pornography or sexual politics. She views Flynt as one of our foremost though perhaps accidental defenders of the First Amendment.

His first court case in Cincinnati in 1977, where he was indicted for pandering obscenity and racketeering, was overturned by the court of appeals. In Los Angeles in the early '80s, he was found in contempt of court for refusing to reveal his source for the John DeLorean videotape of the FBI sting operation against the auto manufacturer. He was sentenced to 15 months and sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Falwell's libel suit over a clearly satirical though offensive parody implying the preacher's first sexual experience was with his mother in an outhouse went all the way to the Supreme Court in 1988. In a unanimous decision, the court ruled in his favor to protect the right of satire and parody of a public person.

In 2001, after the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, Flynt sued Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and the Pentagon to allow press access to the battlefield. This might have caused the Pentagon to institute the procedure now known as "embedding" reporters with the military.

The film covers his tragedies -- getting shot and paralyzed during his obscenity trial in Georgia in 1978 and the death of his wife Althea from AIDS in 1987. The film also touches briefly on his larkish campaigns for California governor and president, the Milos Forman biopic and his decision not to publish nude photos of Army Pvt. Jessica Lynch following the administration's staged rescue of her in Iraq.

The film seems pieced together from archival sources (often of poor quality) and public appearances by Flynt, so he remains a remote figure, somewhat lost in a haze of court battles and tumultuous events. The film never challenges him over adolescent antics that often undermine his legal and social positions nor about the harm his pornography -- especially themes of rape, incest and pedophilia -- may cause. It fails to mention in any detail his four other marriages or the daughter who claims he abused her as a child.

Nevertheless, his constant refrain -- that the biggest enemy of democracy is apathy -- hits home. When you look at the low turnout at the polls in U.S. elections, you realize how right he is.

IMDB Loses Advertisers over Adult Listings

CYBERSPACE -- The Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) has lost two advertisers over their choice to run their company’s ads next to adult title listings.

Barclaycard and The National Lottery in the U.K. pulled their ads off the site completely. Barclaycard said in a statement regarding their decision, “The Internet Movie Database seeks to list all the movies which have ever been made, including adult ones, but by no stretch of the imagination could it be described as a porn site. As company policy, we seek to advertise only on reputable websites and temporarily removed our adverts from this site while we carried out a full investigation and spoke to the website.”

The move follows recent action by advertisers on Facebook.com when mobile network operator Vodafone and several other companies pulled advertising from the site after appearing next to profiles that violated company policies.

Facebook has since created an option allowing advertisers to blacklist content types of content with which they do not wish to be next to.

Will advertisers continue to advertise on sites that contain user-generated content with little control over what their ads actually run next to? Only time will tell.

NYC Fire Dept. Ends Beefcake Calendar Due to Porn Flap

NEW YORK CITY, NY -- The fire department in New York City has pulled its successful and hunky charity firefighter calendar after one of its firefighter models appeared in a Mantra Films’ Guys Gone Wild video.

Fireman Michael Biserta appeared in a volume of the softcore series in 2004 but did not that information to his superiors. The Internet and popularity of the video series meant that, in time, he didn’t have a choice in the matter. Biserta appears on the cover of the current calendar.

In a statement to the media, an FDNY spokesperson says, "the fire department has made the decision to no longer participate in any FDNY-related calendars. It is of our highest priority to maintain the traditions that make up the New York City Fire Department."

The calendar, published by the FDNY Fire Foundation, raised about $150,000 last year, some of which went to training and equipment.

TV sex-crime cop busted for child porn

TRENTON - On TV, Albert Insinnia played a cop who went after sexual deviants. And in real life, he's a child porn perv, authorities alleged yesterday.

Insinnia, 57, of Bloomfield, turned himself into the Passaic County Sheriff's Department in Wayne Monday and was released on bail yesterday, officials said.

The man who played a New York police lieutenant on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was charged with possession of child pornography.

Authorities allegedly discovered 180 images of child porn on the hard drive of the actor's laptop computer.

Insinnia declined to comment.

His lawyer said he's innocent.

"I understand what he's been charged with, but I do have to say that based on my conversations with him and the authorities involved, I sincerely believe he's not guilty," said attorney Joseph Portelli.

According to Portelli, the hard drive on Insinnia's computer has been transferred various times in the last few years and a variety of people have had access to it.

"Any images that may have been on that computer are not his," Portelli said, adding that there are no allegations that his client purchased or sold any of the images.

Playboy Stock Rises in 2nd Quarter

NEW YORK - Shares for Playboy Enterprises Inc. were up 60 cents on Tuesday, as the company posted rising quarterly results. The company has pointed to the positive performance of its U.S. television business, as well as gains in its licensing sales, as the reason for its gains.

According to a Reuters report, analysts were largely predicting that Playboy stocks would break-even on earnings, and with sagging circulation and advertising for the company's flagship magazine, it appeared as though the predictions would be correct.

U.S. TV revenue — one of the Playboy's largest businesses — jumped 4 percent and International TV revenue rose 16 percent and licensing sales grew 36 percent.

"This quarter's results underscore our confidence that our domestic TV business has now stabilized," Playboy Chief Executive Christie Hefner said in a statement. "We expect that the domestic TV business will remain stable while international TV and online will show year-over-year revenue growth."

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Jewel DeNyle is preparing to launch her own production company. The former starlet and current director told AVN.com, "I've got three movies in the can and I'm getting ready to start Platinum Jewel."

Matt Zane Pushes Porn for Pleasure

(HIGHTSTOWN, NJ) -- Matt Zane continues to stretch the porn envelope. Having just wrapped shooting for Radium, his latest alt-porn series exclusively for Pleasure Productions, Zane says his fusion of hardcore sex with hard, edgy metal music "Is pushing the level of what porn can be in terms of entertainment."

The first volume of this groundbreaking series features five music videos from Earache Recording artists and interviews from the band, with Passion, according to Zane.

"This was a very involved shoot," says Zane, "But I had a great time putting it together because, obviously, it is all based around music."

Hosting the series is Pleasure Production’s superstar Tera Wray, a self-anointed "band-aide with benefits." Zane chauffeured Tera around to various heavy metal music events and locations as part of the show to help seal the bond between porn and music.
